Best POS Software for Grocery Stores in India (2026)

Grocery is high-volume and low-margin, so your POS has to bill fast, handle loose weights and thousands of SKUs, and never break during a rush. Here is exactly what grocery POS software needs in 2026 and how to pick the best fit.

What grocery POS software must do

• Weighing-scale integration and barcode/PLU billing for loose and packed goods
• Batch, MRP and expiry tracking with near-expiry alerts
• Fast multi-counter checkout with held bills
• GST-compliant invoices and GSTR-ready reports
• Offline billing for power cuts and weak internet

Why generic billing apps fall short

A plain invoice app cannot weigh produce, track expiry across thousands of SKUs, or run multiple counters — exactly the things that make or break a grocery store’s speed and margin.
